75 th Independence day celebration
India marked the 75th anniversary of independence on Monday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving a speech from New Delhi’s historic Red Fort.
The “Jewel in the Crown” of the British empire became independent in 1947, after two centuries of colonial occupation and exploitation.
Independence Day is a day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who fought for the Independence of the country. On August 15, 1947, India was declared independent from the British colonialism of more than 200 years. The struggle for freedom of India from the British rule lasted for over 90 years from 1857 to 1947. And it was the blood, and sweat of fearless, and valiant freedom fighters that made us call ourselves the citizens of a “Free”, and democratic nation. This day is special for all nation lovers and ignites the feeling of patriotism in every Indian.
Even the smallest of the town and largest of the authorities celebrate independence day with utmost pride and patriotism. And that's where celebrating this day with the right activities can spread awareness and a feeling of patriotism among citizens. And, schools leave no stone unturned to do so!
Every year, schools organize several independence day activities to let students respect the feeling of an Independent India.
Today we cherished the ones who made our independence possible. And our college organized many programmes to appreciate everything we have and celebrate the great miracle of freedom.
As informed earlier, all the teacher trainees reached college before 8:45am. The college was filled with the joy of Independence Day celebrations. All the children looked very enthusiastic. The Independence day programme started at 9:00am.
On a bright sunny day in August, the Independence Day function started with flag hoisting. Chairman of Sabarigiri institutions Dr. V K Jayakumar hosted the flag. Later Principal Dr. Meera Raj gave presidential address and delivered independence day message. After that, along with students of Sabarigiri hs and hss we made a huge circle of independence.Then went for a rally. The rally started from anchal college junction and ended in anchal market junction. After than we returned to college. Three programs such as a musical theme dance, patriotic song and a drama based on jalian vala bhag were performed on the college auditorium. It was a cheerful day .
